The Death of Osama bin Laden

President Obama addressing the nation Sunday evening.

Perhaps it’s less than kind to celebrate the death of anyone, no matter the level of evil they were responsible for in their life. And while the scenes of Americans celebrating—especially at places of such sorrow like Ground Zero—was amazing to see, I could have done without the coverage of the frat party-esque celebrations. Nevertheless, the death of Osama bin Laden marks a very important day for America. We should take time today, and everyday, to remember those murdered on September 11, 2001; however, bin Laden was the mastermind behind a plot that killed thousands, and with him dead, the world—not just America—is a little better place. With that in mind, I chose to be happy about this.

For people upset with the idea of Bin Laden’s death photos: How did they feel about the Daniel Pearl video? Is there a difference between their torture porn & ours?
